Art has the power to reach hearts and minds like nothing else. I know from firsthand experience that when an artist chooses to use their medium as a tool for change, it is not done lightly. It’s even rarer that an artist is so inspired by a political candidate that they support that person with artwork. And yet, Florida gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum has motivated numerous local artists to do so on their own volition. What may have started as a ripple with Disem’s mural in Miami has turned into a full-on wave.
With each piece, the message is clear. Vote for Gillum on or before November 6 at your local polling place.
